Dear fellow Ridgecrest families,

My heart aches for the 25% of Ridgecrest Elementary families who are losing their SNAP benefits as of today due to the ongoing government shut down and are uncertain how to feed their families this month. Despite the federal ruling that the administration needs to use their reserve funds, programs are actively being shut down. I work for a non-profit that enrolls families in SNAP, and we received a notice to stop work last night. Ms. V, the family advocate at Ridgecrest, is accepting grocery gift cards in $25 increments. Our family will be purchasing a stack of gift cards. You can join us by contributing to this fund. I will purchase and deliver them on your behalf.
