This fundraiser was created for Ricky Dehnz, his wife Shaliah and baby Ricky. They’ve escaped a devastating house fire in Mount Hope San Diego that has completely turned their lives upside down.
Shaliah and her husband, Ricky, both serve in the United States Navy. During the fire, Ricky, their 2-year-old son, and Shaliah were all injured and are currently receiving care in the burn unit. Shaliah has since been discharged but will stay beside their son who is still hospitalized.
Ricky suffered severe second- and third-degree burns on over 50% of his body. His injuries are extensive, and he will require a long and difficult recovery in the hospital.
Their young son, baby Ricky, just 2 years old, also suffered burns on his arms and face and is receiving ongoing treatment. Both Ricky and baby Ricky will be hospitalized for some time as they heal.
We are grateful Shaliah is okay, her focus is on supporting her husband and their son through this incredibly difficult time.
The fire destroyed their home and everything they owned. Tragically, their beloved cat and dog did not survive.
In a matter of moments, they lost their home, their belongings, and their sense of normalcy.
Shaliah is Navajo originally from Montezuma Creek, UT, and family means everything to us. We are doing everything we can to support them as well as reach out for donations—especially as Ricky and baby Ricky remain in the hospital facing a long road to recovery.
Funds raised will help cover immediate needs like clothing, baby supplies, and essentials, as well as temporary living expenses and rebuilding once they are able to leave the hospital.
Ricky has dedicated his life to serving our country. Now, he needs the support of his community as he fights to heal.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to give, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and kindness.
