Support Riah's Journey to FCCLA Nationals

Hey everyone! My name is Riah Heitkamp, and I’m a senior at Homestead High School. I’m also the president of our FCCLA chapter. FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America and it’s an amazing national organization that helps students like me build leadership skills, get involved in the community, and grow in so many ways.

At the end of February, I competed at the FCCLA Indiana State Conference in the Food Innovations event, and I’m excited to share that my project took first place in the state! I created a drink company called Lumi Smoothies, offering healthy smoothies packed with superfoods to help with things we all face as high school students like stress, low energy, and poor eating habits. My three smoothies included a "mood-boosting" raspberry smoothie, a "meal-replacement" peanut butter banana smoothie, and a "boost-your-energy" sweet potato pie smoothie.

Thanks to that win, I’ve earned the chance to represent Indiana at the FCCLA National Conference in Orlando, Florida! I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting this is. It’s not just a chance to meet new people, but to push myself further, learn even more, and build connections that will last a lifetime. Plus, I’ll get to add this to my resume, which will be a huge help as I take steps toward my future goals.

But here’s where I need your help. To make this trip happen, I need to raise $2200 to cover the costs of the 7 day trip, which include my hotel, flight, registration, food, and transportation. But it’s not just all work, there are some super fun activities like a trip to Disney World and exclusive FCCLA universities studios and aqua glow party night!

I’ve been working hard to raise funds on my own, but I would be incredibly grateful for any support, big or small. Every little bit helps and means so much to me! I can’t do this without you, and I’m so thankful for your generosity and belief in what I’m doing.
