This GoFundMe has been created by Austin Cordell and Taylor Collins, the children of Rhonda Shaw. Our goal is to support our mom and younger brothers, Bentley and Carter Shaw.

Our mom’s wife and our brothers’ second mother, Amy Howard, has been fighting for her life these past 5 weeks and just passed last night. Amy Howard, a hard-working nurse and a pillar of the Friends of Bill community, has spent the last 2 weeks in the SICU undergoing multiple operations ever since a cancerous mass was discovered last month. While Amy does have health insurance, the reality is that there will be significant medical bills, funeral expenses, and other costs that insurance will not fully cover.

Amy has been the provider for Rhonda’s family for 10 years. She dedicated her life to caring for her patients, to supporting our mom, and to raising Bentley and Carter with love and guidance. Losing her will create not only unimaginable grief, but also financial hardship for our mom as she faces this new chapter.

Our mom, Rhonda Shaw, has spent the past 10 years as a stay at home mom while Amy supported her and the boys. She is a skilled artist and hair stylist, and when she isn’t doing hair, she cleans houses in the community to help make ends meet. Even with her hard work, she may still need your support as her family transitions to a single-mother household.

Bentley and Carter are both 14 and students at Xenia High School. They are bright, driven, and deeply loved. Bentley is an incredible athlete with dreams of attending UCLA, and Carter is a dedicated student and athlete who looks forward to continuing his education at USC. We want to make sure they can continue to pursue their goals without being weighed down by financial struggles during such a difficult time.
