Hello, my name is Kennedy Mandle, I am a 12 year old table tennis player, and I am a member of the Washington DC Table Tennis Center. Our club has been struggling recently due to some damages to the building. I am looking to raise $10,000 for the owner of my club to help with repairs. This community means a lot to me. Please help me keep my club
open. This is a surprise for the owner. Here is a message from the owner.
”Since I took over as owner of WDCTT in 2020, our center has become a staple of the community. Through hard work and lots of personal investment, we have made much needed changes, and created a comfortable safe space for many people to learn and play the wonderful sport of table tennis. Being that our building is getting older, repairs and maintenance have become a greater issue. I have always personally covered all expenses for renovation, remodeling and repairs. However, the cost is quite high and I would like to open the door for donations at this time. Those of you that visit often have noticed that the leaking ceiling has gotten worse over time, despite the tens of thousands of dollars I have invested in "fixing." We are quite fortunate that skilled members of the community have offered to donate their time and labor for all repairs. However, the cost of materials is quite high. We have to purchase around 40 buckets of silicone sealant to repair the roof. They cost about $100 per bucket. We need to repair the floor, wall and internal roof that has been damaged from leaking water. We will need to purchase rollers, brushes, wood, glue, sealant, etc. An extra piece needs to be added to the wall above the auxiliary room to keep heat in. And lastly, the door, frame and lock needs to be replaced. We have repaired the door to the point of it becoming warped and we need to replace it ASAP. Any amount would be greatly appreciated to help us with these repairs as soon as possible. I will provide the balance needed as these are necessary repairs. Thank you all for your consideration and for helping us build and maintain this wonderful center.”
Any donation is greatly appreciated
