Founded in 2022, Repair Cafe Nunhead is a monthly community event where visitors can bring broken items to be fixed by our team of experienced volunteer repairers for free. The goal is to reduce waste and promote sustainability whilst creating a collaborative and welcoming space for visitors and volunteers.

Mends and advice are always free, with donations welcome. However, our donations vary month to month and with this fundraiser we're looking to help cover the costs of room hire and keep the RCN viable.

Over the years the cafe has been running our team of volunteers have surpassed expectations, welcoming hundreds of visitors to the monthly meets. In 2024 we saw 452 items and had a 70% fix rate, giving hundreds of belongings a new lease of life and rescued an estimated 575kg from landfill. This in total saved over an estimated 6310 kg of C02 emissions, which is the equivalent to the annual electricity use of about 987 homes.
