Hello friends and strangers near and far, those I know and do not. I am writing to appeal to your hearts to extend help to Renata Pochylska, a widow of Wieslaw Lukowski. Here I give you a snapshot of their story:
Wieslaw came to the U.S. for the first time in 1979 for an assignment at a circus in Venice, Florida, where he performed as an acrobat. He returned to the area for his second tour in 1989 on a contract with the Ringling Bros Circus. After the contract expired, he stayed in the area and gradually adjusted to America being his second home. The once young and cheerful circus boy grew to become a loving, respectful and hard-working man. As time went by, he rekindled a relationship with his childhood girlfriend Renata, and they married in 2010 to remain each other’s life-long companions. For as long as I have known them, they did everything together. Wieslaw quickly accepted the responsibilities of providing for the family and with smile on his face helped to care for Renata’s handicapped sister Jola, who is now 76 years old. Wieslaw loved nature, worked as a landscaper and enjoyed growing orchids, which were his hobby and pride. Unfortunately, about 10 months ago he received a cancer diagnosis. He bravely fought it for as long as his body could, to ultimately succumb to it just yesterday.
And Renata now stays behind to pick up the pieces of their life on her own.
Renata is a wonderful person who has been juggling family and work responsibilities with utmost care and dedication. She is a positive, good-hearted, and nice all-around human. She personally, just like many of you offered her time and helping hands to my family after a flood interrupted our life in August 2024. During the last year while Wieslaw was no longer able to work, Renata was the sole breadwinner for the family, working as a housekeeper and cleaner. She also continued to care for her ailing spouse and older sister, Jola. She definitely gives easier than she takes, and does not ask for help, so I am doing it for her. If you are able, please consider helping Renata in her transition as she navigates a new life and continues to support herself and Jola, who is solely dependent on her. Thank you.
Love and blessings to all!
