Hi Everyone! Thanks for viewing this page. My name is Brianna Evans and as you can see, my hometown was COMPLETELY underwater from Hurricane Helene. I am from the mountains of Western North Carolina, and words can't even begin to describe the devastation that has impacted the area. This wasn't just one town that was wiped away; this was multiple towns that have been completely swept away. One town being flooded is horrific alone, but this is the entire western side of North Carolina. On top of people losing everything, they are impacted by no cell phone reception, no power, bacteria-infected water (if they're lucky enough to have water), no food, lack of shelter, landslides trapping people on remote mountains, loss of loved ones, no roads connecting towns together, and so much more.
My family has been hard at work to feed those in the community and connect people to the resources that they so desperately need. On 10/1, my family stationed up at a gas station in a small town and began cooking hot meals for the community via gas grills and wood smokers. This has been solely paid for and prepared by my family. In three days, we've been able to feed over 3,000 people. We plan on continuing this every day until we can see a light at the end of the tunnel for WNC. The problem is that it is getting expensive, quickly.
In addition to preparing meals, we have a team of people that are backpacking food and supplies into remote areas where people are starving. Some people cannot get out due to physical/health ailments, young children, elderly, etc. They still need to eat and need help. Yes, we have help coming, but unfortunately, too large of an area was devastated and they can't get to everyone.
We need your help to keep these relief efforts up! Anything you can donate is a tremendous help. $1 or $100. Every dollar matters, and I will personally send you a photo of the receipt that your donation was used for.
Thank you in advance. Please pray for WNC.
