Support Rebuilding After the Loss of Our Mom

Hi to our village! On May 29th, 2025, we lost our mother after her long, courageous battle with substance use and health complications. Her story is one of pain, strength, complexity, and love—and now, as her children, we’re left not only grieving, but trying to pick up the pieces of a life we shared with her.

There is no safety net. No savings, no assets. We’ve lost homes, storage units filled with belongings from even childhood, family heirlooms, and more than we can even list over the years. What we haven’t lost is our will to rebuild—but we can’t do it alone.

We’re facing the costs of end-of-life care and the immediate displacement of my older brother who lived with her and took care of her while living in a hotel for the last three years. We are doing everything we can, but the weight is overwhelming.

This GoFundMe is a way to ask for support, not just to honor our mom’s memory, but to help us start again—safely, with dignity, and with a future in mind.

If you’re able to give, know that you’re not just donating to cover expenses. You’re helping a family heal, recover, and begin again. We would also welcome physical donations (ie clothing/bedding/meals/and anything you feel would contribute to my previously mentioned brother as he starts a new life in a new state).

As you can imagine, it’s devastating and our approach for this kind of support comes from a place of loss, humility, and vulnerability.
