Hi everyone, my name is Michael Middleton, and I’m the founder of Reaching Over Barriers NY, a basketball program created to bring kids and young adults together through the game I love - basketball.
This program means so much to me because it’s dedicated to the memory of my brother, Robert Middleton, who served as a Capitol Heights police officer for 30 years. Robert was more than a great officer - he was a mentor, a protector, and the kind of person who always believed in giving back. In January 2023, we lost him to pancreatic cancer, but his legacy of kindness, service, and community lives on.
Reaching Over Barriers NY is my way of honoring him - by creating a space where young people can find guidance, friendship, and family. Basketball is just the start; what we’re really building is confidence, character, and connection.
Your support will help us provide equipment, uniforms, facility space, and opportunities for kids who might not otherwise have them. Every donation - big or small - helps us make a difference in the lives of others.
Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us reach over barriers, together.
