Hello, I am Rayne's mom, Erin. I am starting this GoFundMe to raise money to get my daughter a wheelchair-accessible van to make life better for her. She is a smart, goofy, truly amazing daughter ❤️ She is 5 and growing by the day. Right now, my state, SC, only offers a grant for $30,000, but only for new vans (it can't be a used one), which wouldn't cover half of the cost of one. I am a full-time mom of 3. I just want to make my baby's life better as much as I can. Her disability is Spastic Diplegia (a form of Cerebral Palsy), and currently, she is in a wheelchair other than working with her for PT and playing on the floor. Rayne was born at 31 weeks and was 3lb 6oz when I had her. About two weeks into being in the NICU with her, they did her brain scan and found that she has what's called PVL. It's where the white matter in the brain dies, which controls things like motor function and nervous system functions. As she has grown, she has been rewiring her brain to be able to teach her body how to do things she wants to accomplish. Having this wheelchair-accessible van would not only benefit her medically but it would also improve her independence and other important aspects of her life. Our family would be so grateful for every donation for my baby girl! More than I could ever put into words. If you could please share this as much as you can, Rayne and our family would love each and every one of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts if we can make this happen for her!!
