Support Ray and Becky in Caring for Grandkids

Hello Everyone,

My name is Becky Burns. My husband Ray and I have had to abandon our lives in Rhode Island due to having to take emergency guardianship of 5 of our grandchildren in WA state. We have already spent well over $10,000 in car rentals, airline flights, renting a 4-bedroom home, food, etc., and that's just in the first 2 weeks! We have had to leave behind our 2 dogs, our home, our family, friends, and community. We are happy to care for our grandkids; we just need some help.

We do not get legal representation; the state gives everyone involved an attorney except the actual guardians. We have no other choice except to try and raise some money to be able to obtain an attorney to help us navigate this bureaucratic nightmare! We love our grandchildren very much and their ordeal has been nothing short of horrific! They have been through so much trauma. I cannot share details because of legal reasons. We have been told that this process can take up to a year! We want to get our grandkids into a stable and consistent life, that is why we need to streamline this process by getting legal representation ASAP.
