We are reaching out to invite your ongoing support for Raquel* and her two children (15 and 9), longtime members of our community. This family continues to face difficulties making ends meet and getting by day to day, hardships caused by the deportation of Raquel’s husband and compounded by the heightened culture of uncertainty and fear of the last few months. Raquel faces mounting legal bills as she fights to keep her family here in our community, where they have lived for many years and where they belong.

Raquel works as much as she can, but unfortunately it’s nearly impossible for someone in her position to access the resources needed to both sustain her family as a single mother and pay legal fees. She continues to struggle to find enough work to make ends meet, much less to cover her legal bills. Life has been especially difficult over the last five years, since Raquel’s husband, Javier,* was ripped from his family and our community after a lengthy fight to stay in the country. Many of you helped their family with this fight and have supported Raquel and their children through the devastation and economic hardship that followed.

We are raising money now to help Raquel cover her legal bills, which will go a long way toward helping her achieve some security for her and her children here in their home.

Queremos invitarles a que sigan apoyando a Raquel* y a sus dos hijos (de 15 y 9 años), miembros de nuestra comunidad desde hace mucho tiempo. Esta familia sigue teniendo dificultades para llegar a fin de mes y salir adelante día a día, dificultades causadas por la deportación del marido de Raquel y agravadas por la creciente cultura de incertidumbre y miedo de los últimos meses. Raquel tiene facturas legales crecientes mientras lucha por mantener a su familia aquí en nuestra comunidad, donde han vivido durante muchos años y donde pertenecen.
