Support Raphael's Eagle Scout Project for Pearson L Center

Hello, My name is Raphael Sweeny and I am 15 years old and a have been a boy scout for the past 10 years. In Boy Scouts, the highest rank is Eagle Scout. I am a Life Scout, the second highest rank in scouting and am working towards becoming an Eagle Scout. One of the major requirements to get this Eagle rank is to complete a project that benefits your community for the long term.

The community project that I am working on is for Pearson Early Learning Center. We are hoping to build an outdoor play and learning area for kids age 6 months to 3 year olds. Currently, toddlers from 6 months old to 3 year olds do not have an outdoor area to play in. There is an area at the front of the school that is overgrown and not currently being used. We plan to clean it up, re-plant it, and refurbish the area and then place in water tables, a sand box, and other things that encourage creativity. This project's top priority is safety. To focus on this we are placing a dense grass around the area so that it looks natural but also keeps the kids safe and contained. We are hoping that this project will start in June and it should take 2-3 days.

I have been planning this project with Pearson staff for months and we are now beginning the fundraising stage. This stage is crucial to the Eagle project and we are asking for your help. With your support we hope to purchase the plants, water tables, and materials to build the sand box. Any funds that are not used for the this project are donated directly to Pearson Learning Center.
