Support Randy Richardson's Mission to Serve

Hello my name is Randy Richardson and I used to be a senior manager in a large corporation. In 2010, I experienced a serious mental health condition that had tragic outcomes. I lost my high paying job and had to go on Social Security Disability. I was suffering from a extreme major depression and sitting at home unable to work just made me more depressed and despondent. That was until someone recommended I try volunteering. I didn't immediately dive into it. I kept putting it off. Until one day when I became suicidal and contemplating burning my house down with only me in it. You see when I used to be "somebody " I took out a large life insurance policy...it would pay my family over $1.25 million dollars if I died by suicide. I fought the dark feelings off and decided I needed to get out of my house but really had no where to go. I had been wanting to visit some historic sites in the Atlanta area where I was living. On a whim, I chose the MLK Jr. Historic Site. I toured the museum and found myself wandering into MLK Jr's old church Ebenezer. As soon as I sat down in the pew, a recorded sermon began. It was The Drum Major Instinct and it was about Jesus telling James and John that if they wanted to be great you had to serve. Anyone can be great because anyone can serve! This was a profound breakthrough for me. I found an opportunity helping seniors in a Athens, GA retirement home with their computers, phones and really anything they required assistance with. I LOVED it. I came back to Auburn Avenue where the MLK Jr. site is and served the homeless in the neighborhood. I did these and many other things in my mission to serve. I found that the more I served OTHERS the less I focused on my own past, depression and dark thoughts. Once when I was accompanying my friend,Benjamin Graham, to one of his motivational speaking engagements - a pastor prophesied over me. He said I would one day have a fleet of trucks to help many people. I thought this meant a fleet of semi-trucks because my background is in Supply Chain/Logistics. It seem ludicrous! I couldn't ever see that happening. Then, One day as I was driving to my Dad's house, I drove by a lot of Japanese mini trucks and the Lord seemed to tell me "You can have a fleet of those little trucks!" Today, I serve with A Hand Up Christian Homeless Ministry in Knoxville, TN. We deliver a weeks worth of supplies to many homeless camps in the city that aren't near the usual resources. One of the challenges is getting the huge truck and trailer we use in and out of the tight spaces we have to go into. These mini trucks are the perfect solution. They are small and nimble but still have a standard size cargo bed to carry things in. My vision is to One day own a fleet of these mini trucks and have a convoy wrapped with graphics and logo traversing the city of Knoxville to serve the maximum number of those most in need and get maximum exposure for raising funds for supplies. To begin, I would like to "process prove" my concept with one truck. Please help me raise the funds to complete the purchase the pilot vehicle. Funds raised will be applied to the balance owed on the truck I have purchased on a layaway type agreement.
