I’m reaching out with a heavy heart after Hurricane Melissa passed directly over the western part of Jamaica, leaving behind unimaginable destruction. My family was among those severely affected — we lost our home completely in the storm. Everything we’ve worked so hard for over the years was destroyed in just a few hours of relentless wind and rain.

We are grateful to be alive, but we’re now faced with starting over from nothing. Our home, which stood as a safe place for generations, is gone — the roof ripped away, walls collapsed, and all our belongings swept out by the storm. We’ve been staying with relatives and neighbors since, but the road ahead feels overwhelming.

Hurricane Melissa didn’t just brush by; it came straight across western Jamaica, devastating entire communities in its path. Many families, including ours, are struggling to find food, clothing, and a safe place to sleep.

I’m creating this GoFundMe to ask for help as we try to rebuild our home and our lives. Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly toward basic necessities like shelter materials, clothing, food, and household items for my family.
