Hello!

I'm Mike Smith, co-founder and president of Ragle Beach Volleyball, Inc. Starting in 2021, we've been running affordable, multi-level tournaments, leagues, and clinics at Ragle Ranch Regional Park in Sebastopol, CA. We are under contract with Sonoma County Regional Parks to maintain the FOUR courts at the beautiful park with oaks and redwoods surrounding the courts. While we're happy with what we've been able to do in 4 short years, we have had a major goal since the 501(c)3's inception: FIX THE OLD COURTS!

Here's the deal: We have two PERFECT courts built just a couple of years ago. The other two courts, however, weren't installed correctly and are unplayable for almost half of the year. After a rain, the sitting water compacts the sand and makes the old courts (built about 20 years ago) feel more like sandstone. We then have to wait until the sand completely dries out to bring over a huge Rototiller (which the volleyball community had donated years ago, thankfully) to break apart the compacted sand.

Regional Parks has really stepped up and committed to provide all labor at no cost, as well as a portion of the heavy equipment rental (if they can't provide the equipment themselves).

Regional Parks has also committed to putting this project on the calendar for Fall of 2026 (once the seasonal Russian River dam is completed).

We have already FUNDRAISED $37,000 through previous programming and donations, and the project is estimated to cost the nonprofit $48,000. This GoFundMe is for the remaining $11,000 we need to bring it home.

This $11,000 would ensure that the old courts at Ragle are equipped identically to the modern courts, with Monson Slider nets, professional lines and antennas, and most importantly, the sand and everything underneath it!

A huge thanks to all those locals who have donated over the past four years to make this $11,000 seem so feasible. Our fundraising target is the last day of summer: September 21. Let's make it happen!
