This April, four dedicated Amateur Radio operators — **Greg Shafer, KC9GAS; Bryon Wells, KD9DPA; Brian Sexton, KD9EDR; and Matthew Carter, KA9MAC** — will be traveling to Boston to volunteer their time and skills in support of the Boston Marathon. As experienced radio operators, we provide critical backup communications along the course to help ensure runner safety and smooth event operations. From relaying medical information to coordinating logistics, Amateur Radio plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping this historic race running safely and efficiently.
We’re raising funds to help cover fuel for the trip, housing during marathon weekend, meals, and any unexpected expenses that may arise while we’re deployed. Your support will directly help offset the costs of volunteering so we can focus fully on serving the event and the thousands of runners participating. Any contribution — big or small — is deeply appreciated and helps us continue supporting this incredible tradition of service. Thank you for standing behind us and the Amateur Radio community!
