Ra Cha Cha!: Artists Living and Working in Rochester, NY is a group show featuring 15 artists, trained and untrained, young and young at heart, that are making it happen in our area. We have been selected to exhibit our work at Art Fair 14C, a fair that provides select viewing hours for folks with special sensory needs and subsidies for artists that qualify - it's run by a really awesome non-profit and it's in the Jersey City Armory in Jersey City, NJ this Nov 11-14th!

Since we are a big group we have a range of people that can afford to travel and stay in the area for the art fair and those who cannot - which is why we are doing this fundraiser! We are hoping to raise a minimum of $300 for our artists that work super hard and have modest incomes. Anything we raise over that amount goes into a big pot to help folks with their share of other trip/professional development costs (business cards, packing supplies for sold work etc). The goal of this show is to create a bridge between Rochester's art economy and larger network of arts professionals in NY and NJ. If it goes well, we'll take a different group down every year and keep it going!

Curated by artist Annalisa Barron, Ra Cha Cha! features small 2D works including collage, photography, delicate ink drawings and paintings made of sand, milk and spit. Our arts community is die-hard and hard-worn both due to braving harsh winters and historically complicated arts funding. These works represent the city’s shifting social landscape post COVID-19 and the unique aesthetics of an artist community contending with red-lining and inequality while still celebrating its strengths - making the top 10 list for the most friendly cities in the U.S. for the LGBTQ+ community.

*We are partnering with the Rochester Contemporary Art Center, The Rochester Art Collectors and RoCo Upstairs to have a preview show on October 7th in the RoCo Upstairs Gallery. Robinson Holloway, the Director of Art Fair 14C, has graciously offered to make the trip to Rochester to help promote our event and give a talk! Our artists will have two works on display, one for sale ( all $ goes to the group) and the one that's been selected for ArtFair14C.*

Thank you for supporting our ability to create a larger network for selling our work - Rochester does not have a commercial gallery right now and we're not gonna let that slow us down!
