Our Campaign Story

Rise and Shine Child Care Centers & Family Services Agency has served Sonoma County families by providing trusted, high-quality care during the earliest and most important years of childhood. Our programs now support children from infancy through preschool, creating a continuum of care where infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are known, loved, and supported as they learn, grow, and reach their unique developmental milestones.

Our mission is simple but deeply important: to provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environments where every child receives responsive care, meaningful interaction, and learning experiences thoughtfully designed for their stage of development.

After voluntarily relinquishing our state contract, Rise and Shine transitioned to a private-pay model while continuing to accept third-party payments through programs such as 4Cs, RCCS, and similar family-support agencies. This transition has allowed us to continue serving families, but it has also created significant financial challenges.

High-quality early childhood care is costly to provide, particularly for infants and toddlers, who require increased staffing, supervision, training, and individualized attention. Rise and Shine maintains intentionally low teacher-to-child ratios of:

1:3 for infants

1:4 for toddlers

1:8 for preschoolers

These ratios allow our teachers to provide responsive care, individualized support, meaningful relationships, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences at every stage. We also work hard to provide competitive wages, benefits, professional development, and ongoing safety training so we can retain qualified, compassionate, and highly trained early childhood educators.

As the costs of staffing, rent, insurance, food, utilities, classroom materials, safety training, and daily operations continue to rise, families often carry much of that financial burden.

We do not want high-quality early childhood care to become unreachable for Sonoma County families.

That is why Rise and Shine has partnered with Josiah Rich Ministries, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 68-0411120, to receive tax-deductible donations that help support children and families served by our infant, toddler, and preschool programs.

How Donations Will Be Used

Your donation will help Rise and Shine continue providing excellent early childhood care and education by supporting:

Classroom materials, learning centers, and educational resources

Infant, toddler, and preschool developmental supplies

Safe, beautiful, and well-equipped learning environments

Highly qualified teachers and essential staff support

CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace-safety training

Staff development and early childhood education resources

Continued access to high-quality infant, toddler, and preschool care in Sonoma County

Unless a donor specifically designates a particular location or program, donations will be directed to the Rise and Shine center with the greatest need.

Our Santa Rosa centers continue to specialize in infant and toddler care. Our Rohnert Park campus is expanding our continuum of care to include preschool, allowing children and families to remain within the Rise and Shine community as they grow.
