Campaign Story
Rise and Shine Child Care Centers & Family Services Agency has served Sonoma County families by providing trusted, high-quality infant and toddler care for children ages 2–24 months. Our mission has always been simple but deeply important: to provide infants and toddlers with safe, nurturing, developmentally rich environments where they are known, loved, and supported as they reach their unique milestones.
After voluntarily relinquishing our state contract, Rise and Shine transitioned to a private-pay model while continuing to accept third-party payments through programs such as 4Cs, RCCS, and similar family-support agencies. This transition has allowed us to continue serving families, but it has also created significant financial challenges.
Infant care is one of the most expensive forms of child care to provide. Rise and Shine maintains a very low teacher-to-infant ratio of 1:3 or lower, which allows us to provide the attentive, individualized care that babies need. We also work hard to pay our teachers competitively and provide benefits so that we can retain qualified, caring, and well-trained professionals. As costs for staffing, rent, insurance, food, materials, utilities, safety training, and classroom supplies continue to rise, those expenses are unfortunately often passed on to families.
We do not want quality infant care to become unreachable for Sonoma County families.
That is why Rise and Shine has partnered with Josiah Rich Ministries, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 68-0411120, to receive tax-deductible donations that will help support the needs of families with infants and toddlers.
How Donations Will Be Used
Your donation will help Rise and Shine continue providing excellent infant and toddler care by supporting:
- Classroom materials and learning stations
- Infant and toddler development supplies
- Safe, beautiful, and well-equipped learning environments
- Highly qualified teachers and staff support
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace safety training
- Continued access to infant-only child care in Sonoma County
Unless a donor specifically designates a particular location, donations will be directed to the Rise and Shine center with the greatest need.

Why Your Support Matters
Infant care is more than supervision. It is the foundation for emotional security, language development, motor growth, social connection, and lifelong learning. Babies need consistent, responsive caregivers. Families need dependable care so they can work, study, recover, build stability, and provide for their households.
Rise and Shine is committed to helping meet that need in Sonoma County.
Your donation helps us continue offering a trusted infant-only program that supports children during one of the most important developmental windows of life. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps protect access to quality infant care for local families.
