Hello! My name is Eva, and I am a Life Scout with Scouting America Troop 2200 in Hershey, PA, currently working toward my Eagle Scout rank.

For my Eagle Project, I am creating something lasting and meaningful for our community: a handcrafted Red Oak Puzzle Table for the Hershey Public Library.

Why a Puzzle Table?

The library is more than just for books - it’s a place for community connection, creativity, and relaxation. Puzzle tables bring people of all ages together. Families, friends, and neighbors can sit down, and enjoy the simple joy of solving a puzzle side by side.

By building this custom Red Oak Puzzle Table, my Troop and I hope to create a dedicated, welcoming space for our community to gather and enjoy time together for years to come.

What Our Project Involves

• Handcrafted by Scouts, with guidance from skilled mentors and the Library Team, this live-edge solid, stable Red Oak tabletop will withstand daily use at the library and bring people together.

• This project gives our Troop an opportunity to learn woodworking and service skills.

How Your Donation Will Help:

We have already secured kiln-dried red oak wood and need $600 to complete the Puzzle Table project for the Hershey Public Library. Your support will cover the cost of:

• Steel Legs ($300): Strong, durable legs to support the tabletop and ensure the table will last for years of community use.

• Professional Gluing & Planing ($100): Skilled support from Middletown Lumber to glue and plane the kiln-dried boards into a smooth, sturdy 3x4 ft tabletop.

• Stain & Sealant ($100): High-quality finishing materials (stain, sealant, polyurethane, sandpaper, brushes) to protect the table and highlight the natural beauty of the red oak.

• Delivery & Installation ($100): Safe transportation and secure installation at the Hershey Public Library.

This transparent budget ensures every dollar directly supports the materials and services needed to complete the project. Any funds remaining after the table is built will be donated to the Hershey Public Library. I will also post updates as the project moves forward.

Why This Matters

An Eagle Scout project is about leadership and giving back. By leading my troop in designing, building, and delivering this table, I will gain valuable skills in planning, teamwork, and service—while also giving something back to the community that has supported me. And I love our public library!
