Now is a critical moment to support pro-democracy independent journalists who produce meaningful coverage and analysis of issues that often receive little attention — but that make a huge difference for our communities, our rights, and our future.
To keep this work going, I need your help.
Established in October 2025, Nomination Notes is the only resource for comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-the-moment coverage and analysis of federal judicial nominations. It analyzes and reports on nominees to the federal bench, judicial diversity, larger democracy and court-related issues, and more. Nomination Notes offers a paywall-free reading experience to ensure everyone has access to this important information about the functioning of our democracy — but financial support is needed for it to continue.
Unlike any other news or online outlet, Nomination Notes tracks new judicial nominees, researches their records, and follows them through the confirmation process — including confirmation hearings, questions for the record, committee markups, and full Senate votes. It produces original analyses, uncovers patterns, and prompts important questions for the public to consider and for our elected leaders to address.
About me: I’m a researcher and writer with nearly 15 years of experience in civil rights, the judiciary, and nominations. I previously worked in communications at one of the nation’s legacy civil rights organizations, where I worked on judicial and other executive nominations since President Obama’s second term. Since establishing Nomination Notes, my reporting has been cited by national and state-level reporters and legal journalists, and it equips my readers — including advocates and Senate staff — with timely and important information about judicial nominations and related issues.
Thank you for helping to sustain my pro-democracy independent journalism. I appreciate your support!
