Priscila Alvares Pereira Dos Santos saw a child drowning in the Delaware River by Delran, NJ and went into the water to save her. She reached the girl and helped get her safely toward shore. Priscila never made it back.

Today would have been her 34th birthday.

She leaves behind her husband and two children, ages 9 and 3.

In a matter of moments, Alex lost his wife and partner, and two young children lost their mother.

For everyone who knew Priscila, what happened is heartbreaking - but her instinct to help someone else was completely consistent with the woman she was.

Priscila was a loving and devoted mother, a wife, a woman of faith, a loyal friend, and someone who worked incredibly hard for her family. Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, she came to the United States approximately five years ago determined to build a better future for her children.

She cleaned homes for a living and worked hard to support the life she and Alex were building together.

Her children were the center of her world.

Friends remember Priscila as joyful, strong, generous and always willing to help someone with her words, her time or her actions. She loved taking her children out and watching them enjoy parks, beaches, lakes and the simple experiences that made them happy.

Her youngest child is only 3 years old and is autistic. Priscila played an especially important role in his daily care and support.

Alex has now lost his wife and partner and suddenly faces the unimaginable task of raising their two young children without their mother. He has been unable to work during the search and aftermath of this tragedy and will now be solely responsible for supporting and caring for their children.

We are raising money to give Alex and the children stability in the difficult days and years ahead.

Na tarde de segunda-feira, 24 de agosto, Priscila Alves Pereira dos Santos viu uma menina se afogando no Rio Delaware, no Amico Island Park, em Delran, New Jersey.

Priscila entrou na água para salvá-la.

Ela conseguiu alcançar a menina e empurrá-la em direção à margem, onde outras pessoas conseguiram retirá-la da água em segurança.

Priscila não conseguiu voltar.

Após uma grande operação de busca, Priscila foi encontrada na terça-feira.

Hoje seria o aniversário de 34 anos de Priscila.

Ela deixa seu marido, Alex, e seus dois filhos, de apenas 9 e 3 anos.

Para todos que conheciam Priscila, o que aconteceu é devastador. Ao mesmo tempo, sua decisão imediata de ajudar outra pessoa representa exatamente quem ela sempre foi.

Priscila era uma mãe amorosa e dedicada, esposa, mulher de fé, amiga leal e uma pessoa extremamente batalhadora.

Natural de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, ela veio para os Estados Unidos há aproximadamente cinco anos determinada a construir um futuro melhor para seus filhos.

Priscila trabalhava com limpeza de casas e se dedicava muito para ajudar a construir a vida da família ao lado de Alex.

Seus filhos eram o centro de sua vida.

Os amigos se lembram dela como uma mulher alegre, forte, generosa e sempre pronta para ajudar alguém, seja através de palavras, do seu tempo ou de suas atitudes. Ela amava levar os filhos para passear e vê-los felizes em parques, praias, lagos e nos momentos simples em família.

Seu filho mais novo tem apenas 3 anos e é autista. Priscila tinha um papel especialmente importante em seus cuidados e em sua rotina diária.

Alex perdeu sua esposa e companheira e agora enfrenta a difícil realidade de criar sozinho seus dois filhos pequenos sem a presença da mãe. Durante as buscas e após essa tragédia, ele não tem conseguido trabalhar e agora será o principal responsável pelo sustento e pelos cuidados das crianças.

Estamos criando esta campanha para dar a Alex e às crianças um pouco de estabilidade nos dias, meses e anos que virão.
