The Tokyo Marathon is more than just a prestigious race; it's a symbol of resilience, unity, and personal achievement. My aspiration to run this marathon with Pride House stems from a profound desire to combine my passion for running with my commitment to advocacy for inclusivity, diversity, and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Pride House Tokyo aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ issues through the creation of hospitality spaces, hosting of events, and production of diverse content, while taking advantage of the opportunities available during the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics and working across corporate, individual activists and organizational sectors.
Running has always been a personal journey for me, representing discipline, endurance, and the pursuit of excellence. However, participating in the Tokyo Marathon with Pride House elevates this journey from a personal endeavor to a platform for social change. Pride House embodies the values I deeply cherish—creating safe, inclusive spaces where individuals of all identities can feel seen, heard, and celebrated. By aligning with Pride House, I aim to amplify the message that sports are for everyone, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or background.
