You might have seen the NY Times video highlighting the horrifying plight facing Latina women and their families every day during this federal ICE siege.
We are part of the volunteer team that was highlighted, working to provide financial and material assistance to Latina women who are struggling to remain the pillar of their homes and families. The situation has become even more dire as so many pregnant or recently postpartum Latina women are the invisible collateral damage during this crisis. They are suffering, scared, and facing potential homelessness because the primary breadwinner has been kidnapped or detained, leaving families without support or stability.
We have witnessed firsthand the heartbreak and fear that these women experience daily. Many are unable to pay rent, buy food, or provide basic necessities for their children. The harsh Minnesota winters only add to the urgency, making it even more critical to keep families safe and warm. By coming together as a community, we can help alleviate some of the inhumanity and provide hope during these dark times.
We all know this insanity and cruelty needs to stop, and by helping our neighbors and fellow families stay housed, fed, and clothed during these difficult times, we can make a real difference. Your support will go directly to rent, food, clothing, and material support for those most in need.
Thank you for your support.
Much love,
Fernanda CNM & Sam MD
