Support Pompeyo's Battle with Parkinson's

Donation protected
Imagine being safe in your new home, only to have your world turned upside down a few short months later. This is the nightmare my parents, Pompeyo and Sonia, are currently living through.

My father, Pompeyo, is battling the advanced stages of Parkinson's Disease, which causes severe mobility issues, tremors, and, most recently, debilitating memory-related challenges. My mother, Sonia, is his full-time, unpaid caregiver, devotedly supporting him 24 hours a day.

A few months ago, they moved into a new rental on a month-to-month lease, believing they had found a safe haven. Sadly, because of the nature of their lease, they have virtually no tenant protection. Now, their landlords are forcing them out with a 30-day eviction notice under "no just cause."

The Painful Truth: My Father Became an "Inconvenience"
The devastating reason for this eviction centers around my father's progressive illness.

Recently, during the early hours of the morning, my father—disoriented due to his memory/dementia issues—left the house for a short time. Instead of showing compassion, the landlord called the police and falsely claimed he was a trespasser.

My father, who can barely walk due to his severe Parkinson's, became an "inconvenience." Instead of empathy, they were met with an eviction notice. They are being pushed out of their home simply because my dad needs help, not hostility.

Why They Need Your Help Now More Than Ever
My mother does not work; her job is keeping my father safe and cared for. They are both getting older and are in the difficult process of arranging additional in-home care, which is emotionally and financially exhausting.

Moving is a monumental task for any family, but for an elderly couple facing this level of illness and disability, it is a cruel and impossible burden. The financial stress is immense, and they are facing this all right before the holiday season—a time that should be filled with peace and comfort, not panic.

Your donation will directly cover:

Security Deposit: For the new, accessible apartment.

First Month's Rent: To secure a safe place immediately.

Moving Costs: Hiring professional, efficient movers who can handle their belongings quickly and carefully without relying on an elderly, stressed family.

Temporary Care: Relief for my mother during the chaotic moving week.

Every day that passes is one less day they have to find and secure a new, safe, and accessible home. We, their family, are helping in every way we can, but it's a huge financial burden.

Please Open Your Heart This Holiday Season
We are asking for your kindness and compassion to help us lift this crushing burden. We are asking for a safe place to live for an elderly couple facing severe illness.

A donation of any size will not only alleviate their financial stress but also send a powerful message to my parents that they are not alone and that their struggle is seen.

Please help us secure a safe, stable home for my dad and mom before the month is over.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and generosity.
