Step up with us to feed our neighbors during the federal government shutdown: Donate to expand the SNAP Support Voucher Program.

Starting November 1, 2025, our neighbors participating in SNAP/EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), formerly known as food stamps, will experience a pause in benefits as a result of the federal government shutdown. Despite being the largest and most successful anti-hunger program in America, USDA has decided not to utilize contingency funds to keep SNAP participants fed. In these unprecedented times, we cannot expect our food banks and pantries to carry all the weight of feeding communities right now. The need is so much bigger than any one of us can respond to alone.

Our friends and neighbors deserve choice and dignity in how they put food on the table for their families.

Double Up Food Bucks AZ is another option available for Arizonans. Double Up is an incentive-based program that doubles SNAP participants’ EBT benefits on purchases of Arizona grown fruits & veggies, dried beans, and edible plants and seeds at designated sites across the state.

This week, Pinnacle Prevention’s Double Up Food Bucks AZ program is pivoting to launch a SNAP Support Voucher program to help fill the gap caused by the government shutdown. The SNAP Support Voucher program will offer SNAP participants a free $10 voucher to spend at a participating Double Up farmers market, farm stand, corner store, or mobile market without having to spend a penny of their EBT benefits. Right now, there is only adequate funding in the program to distribute $10 per household - a drop in the bucket for most households’ grocery needs. Due to overwhelming demand, we need your support to help keep food on the table for nearly 900,000 Arizonans, 40% of whom are children.

We aim to raise $100,000 to reach over 7,000 Double Up customers to ensure they are still able to access nourishing local produce during the month of November. Giving even $10 today will double the benefits we are able to offer to one individual or family right now.

Your donation not only helps to feed your neighbors, 100% of it also goes directly back into our local food system, investing in farms and other micro-businesses who rely on SNAP revenues so that they can continue to feed their communities. Every dollar helps make a positive impact to support families and farmers – our neighbors – during this time.
