Philly People of Hope (PPOH) is a grassroots, community-run resource bank serving West Philadelphia and Kensington with hot meals, groceries, hygiene supplies, street outreach, crisis support, and everyday assistance for families and unhoused neighbors who have been forgotten by the city’s systems. We operate five days a week, powered entirely by volunteers, mutual aid, and the very people who rely on us.
There is no corporate sponsor behind us. No government contract. Just community taking care of community.
The need in our neighborhoods is growing faster than the resources available — and as we expand our operations, we’re raising funds to strengthen our foundation so we can keep showing up consistently, safely, and sustainably.

Expand and Organize Our Space
We urgently need additional shelving and storage to safely organize the hundreds of donations that move through our resource banks each week. More shelving means more food stored properly, more hygiene kits prepped, and more families served without delays.
Keep the Resource Banks Fully Stocked
Every week, we distribute hundreds of pounds of food, hot meals, snacks, produce, and pantry staples. Donations fluctuate, but the need never does. This fundraiser allows us to buy essential items in bulk so no family is turned away and no outreach day needs to be cancelled due to lack of supplies.
Purchase a Reliable Used Van
Right now, most of our outreach and supply runs depend on volunteers using their personal cars. A van with good mileage would be a game-changer, allowing us to:
Transport groceries from West Philly Produce and other partners
Move outreach supplies safely across the city.
Deliver emergency support to families in crisis.
Expand our reach into blocks often overlooked.
This isn’t just a vehicle — it’s an investment in consistency, safety, and the ability to respond quickly when our neighbors need us most.
