Support Phil and Connie: Cancer Battle Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kathy. My nephew, Phil, who is 60 years old, had major surgery on November 24. He had been diagnosed with bladder cancer, so they removed his bladder and created a new one for him out of his intestines. The surgeon told him he got it all. Although one of the chief residents ordered a CT scan of his abdomen before discharge, his surgeon canceled the order and said he didn’t need one for 6 months. Phil remained in severe pain for the following 2-4 months. For those 4 months, Phil would call his surgeon and tell him how severe his pain was. The surgeon told him over and over that it was caused by constipation. Phil took stool softener and fiber daily and would move his bowels several times a day. The surgeon kept telling him it was constipation. His wife, Connie, called his family physician, who ordered an abdominal CT scan. The scan revealed that he had a very aggressive form of liver and lung cancer. He has seen an oncologist who wants him to start chemotherapy. He was to have started this Monday, 3/17, but because he’s been out of work for so long, his job has dropped him from health care, so he has no coverage. Working on this will extend the length of time before he can begin chemotherapy which hopefully will extend his life.
He's been unable to work for many months. His wife, Connie, has picked up 3 jobs to cover their bills, including his medical bills.
I’m asking if you could donate towards helping them, even a dollar here and there would be helpful. We would greatly appreciate anything you could do for Phil and Connie.
I don’t even want to add this as I don’t want to have the thought in my head, but because I’m also realistic, we must also think of paying for his funeral when necessary.
I sincerely thank you for even considering a donation. May the Lord bless you and your family!!
