Dear friends and colleagues, our friend Perry Price needs your help.
Perry has been a treasured member of our Marietta community for longer than I have been alive. He has also been a part of our law office, and my family, for over thirty eight years. There is not a single person in our community whose life he has not enriched. He is so revered that during my lifetime, our mayors have dedicated not one, but two, PERRY PRICE days.
As Perry enters his 70s, he has faced unforeseen hardship brought about by recent medical complications. Last week, he endured two emergency surgeries to remove cysts in his bladder and several weeks of hospital stay. There are lingering concerns about future complications that I will not speculate on. Perry is now recovering at home, but he is unable to care for himself. He risks losing his housing due to the accumulation of clutter and debris from his weakened condition. The clutter has resulted in an infestation of pests, causing unsafe living conditions and tension with his roommates. He is not currently able to care for himself.
It is my hope that Perry lives the sunset years of his life in dignity. I would consider my life a failure if I were to allow Perry to lose his home. My father and I have long provided Perry with financial support, transportation, and employment. That's what family members do. However, we have reached the limit of the care we are able to provide by ourselves.
I am creating this GoFundMe to ask the Marietta community to give back to Perry in remembrance of his service to the city. Perry needs your support now more than ever.
Any money donated will be managed and distributed by myself, Sam Nash, a local attorney and close friend of Perry. Our law office is located at 204 Washington Ave, Marietta, GA 30060. The money will be used immediately in the following ways:
1) Home cleaning and junk removal services
2) Exterminator services
3) Food that complies with Perry's post-surgery diet as mandated by his doctor
4) Rent -- Perry is unable to work while he is recovering.
Anyone wishing to support Perry in other ways is appreciated. This would include rides to the grocery store, doctor appointments, church. Perry is isolated at home and without friends and his recovery depends on him feeling like a part of the community. Food service is appreciated, but may be limited by his post-surgery dietary restrictions. If you would like his cell phone number, please contact me on Facebook.
Thank you for your donations and may God bless Marietta and Perry Price.
