Support Penny's Fight Against Kidney Failure

A good friend of mine and Megan's, Penny Whitaker has battled kidney disease most of her adult life. On Monday June 24th Penny found out she had progressed into Kidney Failure. Her kidney function is at 8. They scheduled her an appointment to meet with the surgeon on Wednesday June 26th to see if he thought her body would accept a kidney transplant or start dialysis. Unfortunately both are off the table. Penny's blood pressure is out of control & her fluid retention is dangerously high putting her at high risk for congestive heart failure. She was prescribed a high dose of lasik to hopefully relieve the fluids. The doctor's main focus is to get the fluid retention under control first.

The doctor seems to think complete kidney failure will happen soon. When it does happen she will go on dialysis first to stabilize her. When she is stable they will move forward with putting her on the kidney transplant list. Once she has been put on the list all we can do is pray they find a match.

With all this as you can imagine it is hard for Penny to work full time. So we are helping Penny's kids TaShawna Lowe, Mason Whitaker and Ryan Whitaker raise funds to help pay Penny's living expenses and pay what her insurance does not pay for medications and medical care.
