Hi! My name is Pearl Burttschell and I am a junior in high school on the Monterey Peninsula. Ever since I was 7 years old, my family and I wanted to make a difference for those who are less fortunate, especially during the holidays. So, we started to donate socks and sandwiches to the homeless during those cold months. After so many years of doing this, I decided to take it to the next level and start a nonprofit for others to help out as well. This stems from a deep desire to address the immediate and often overlooked needs of those facing homelessness in a season that highlights warmth, comfort, and generosity. Socks, a basic yet essential item, provide much-needed protection and warmth for feet, which are especially vulnerable during cold weather, while sandwiches offer nourishment and a moment of relief from hunger. This initiative is driven by the understanding that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals struggling with hardship, fostering a sense of community and compassion. The holidays serve as a powerful reminder to extend support and dignity to those in need, inspiring the creation of a focused effort to bring practical help and hope to the homeless population.
How your donation is used - $2 provides one sandwich.
$3 provides one new pair of socks.
$5 covers a sandwich + socks for one person
