As I participate in the Tokyo Marathon 2025, I'm not just tackling a grueling event – I'm helping Peace Winds Japan make progress with their Peace Wanko Japan project to save dogs from being euthanized and find new loving homes and strengthen communities. Peace Winds is a global organization that serves humanitarian causes on the front lines of natural disasters and man-made disasters, and sponsors humanitarian projects world wide, including in Japan. Donations to my run go directly towards Peace Wind's Wanko Japan vital programs that promote dog welfare and the positive impact that dogs have as part of loving homes and society as a whole. Please note that the way charities work for the Tokyo Marathon is that I have to pay the charity amount in full (which I have already done) and then seek reimbursement, which is why I am doing this via GoFundMe. It is different than how other marathons (e.g. Chicago, Boston) do it, where there is a charity page where I pledge an amount and then ask for funds for the charity, that then go directly to the charity. Rest assured that your donation are going to the charity, but just through a different process.
