Help my wife survive another Stroke and Cancer.

Donation protected
Hey All!

My name is Paul Hoffman, I'm a Paramedic in New York.

I am writing this note on behalf of my wife Khrystian. She was/is a school teacher in Brooklyn. Now disabled and unable to help our community and our family.

Since April 2024, Khrystian been in and out of various hospitals in our surrounding area, constantly being misdiagnosed and neglected every time. She was discharged from every hospital with a report of no findings of ANYTHING every time!
She's falling apart and dying right before my eyes at the age of 43!!!
The reason why she went to the hospitals...
She showed signs and symptoms of Left sided weakness, slurred speech, memory loss, confusion, altered mental status, shortness of breath, hypoxia! Thunderclap headaches, fatigue, ambulatory dysfunction, I could go on and on. All signs and symptoms of a stroke, cardiac event, something major.
Instead, the hospital MDs encouraged her to go to local MD's instead of the hospitals. (A Neurologist, Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, Pulmonologist, Hematologist, Oncologist, Ophthalmologist, etc.)
So she did,and still is! Their results are
She's suffering from two strokes, 2 pulmonary embolisms, focal motor seizures, an aneurysm in her carotid artery at the base of her brain that could burst at any moment. DVTs in her legs. A mass on her adrenal gland, antiphospholipid syndrome, her blood is so thick as she has clots everywhere and cancer in her colon, adrenal gland and on her brain.

I had to decrease my work schedule so I could be her caregiver on my days off. She is not allowed to drive.

God knows if she'll ever teach again.

To add insult to injury. As if we haven't been through enough...

We own a small Egg Farm. We were expanding the coops before Khrystian started having all these medical problems, We hired a contractor to build a second chicken coop and a 2nd chicken run.

He started the project then disappeared. Taking $3,000 of our money and all of the supplies that we paid him to buy. He returned the materials to the store for cash return and kept the money. With everything that is going on in our lives, we don't have the time or energy to deal with legal issues now...
I had to build the run and I'm not a contractor so it looks like something out of a cartoon.
The small egg farm is not a profitable business. The support that we get from those that buy our eggs are just enough to pay for the food for the birds. I never intended the egg farm to be profitable to begin with. My entire goal was to provide delicious, healthy, farm fresh, organic eggs to everyone around the area. All profits go back to the chickens and leftovers go towards Khrystians health fund.

We started this GoFundMe because her disability is still ongoing and financial survival has been a burden on us. No matter how much we save, we are having a hard time paying bills. I can't support our family on my own income. Paramedics don't make a lot of money and the more I work, the more taxes are taken out, so basically I get paid the same no matter how much I work.

Here's an update since I've last posted. Khrystian had her colon removed successfully. She currently has an iliostomy. They are hoping that they will be able to connect her stomach to her small intestine so that could remove the iliostomy bag on her stomach.

Surgeons still want to remove her adrenal glands and the tumor on her brain. Thank God that it's on her brain, not IN her brain.
We are not out of the woods yet but we are making progress. I want to thank the wonderful staff at NYU Langone that are helping with her surgeries.

A financial donation would help us afford late bills so we don't lose our house, cars, electricity, water, etc. One car has been repossessed 3 times already.

Khrystian's illness and disabilities, the theft, the financial burden, insurance issues and the depressing thoughts about her future is really causing a toll on our mental health.

She is our everything. I am lost and confused without her.

I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all of those who have donated already!

You are all Angels in my eyes and it is SO wonderful to know that there are still some loving and caring people that still exist in America.

Please help Khrystian survive her illness. With your donations, we can get Khrystian the appropriate care that she needs and we can get our little farm to grow so we could continue to support and give back to our community.

We give so much to our community. Through education, healthcare, delicious eggs and our own donations to local charities... Please help us on our ongoing painstaking journey back to health so we could return the favor again in the future.

Thank you in advance.
