On his way to work at RCS in Trenton, Georgia, my husband Paul was struck by a truck while riding his motorcycle. He is now in the ICU trauma unit with 13 broken ribs, facing a long and difficult recovery. Paul is the heart of our family and the only provider for our household. He’s always been a hard worker, quickly rising to a lead position at his company, and he’s known for putting others before himself. His faith, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need have touched so many lives. Now, he’s facing the challenge of being unable to work or even move around, which is especially hard for someone who’s always been so active and hands-on.

We live paycheck to paycheck, and Paul did not have medical insurance. While we hope the motorcycle insurance will help with some of the medical bills, we’re still left with daily living expenses and household bills that keep our family afloat. I am unable to seek work outside the home because Paul will require 24-hour care once he is discharged, and I need to be there for him. I’m also helping my two younger sisters and my nephew, who are living with us as they get on their feet. Our three sons, Paul’s father, and friends have been stepping in to help with transportation and support, but I worry about how long we can rely on them as everyone has their own responsibilities.

Each day is a struggle to balance hospital visits, caring for my family, and managing the stress of an uncertain future. I’m reaching out for help to keep our home running and to make sure we don’t lose everything Paul has worked so hard for. Any support will go directly toward household bills, groceries, and basic needs while Paul recovers. Your kindness and generosity will help us get through this incredibly difficult time and give Paul the chance to heal without the added worry of financial hardship.
