Support Paulette's Journey to Healing

On December 30th, Paulette (Pacheco Rego) suffered a brain aneurysm. It is a miracle that circumstances coincided as they did and she survived. She had two procedures that day - one to manage the bleeding and pressure via a port placed in her brain and the second, a device placed on the aneurysm. There was a 50 percent chance of surviving the surgery and our scrappy girl did just that! She came out of it and was talking to family that afternoon from her hospital bed...in terrible pain but present and accounted for!

After three weeks of some very scary ups and downs in the ICU, she has finally been sent home but with no discharge planning/assistance for her ongoing care/needs or organizing finances as she continues her arduous recovery. She struggles to complete day-to-day activities and suffers from seizures and memory loss. While her brain heals she cannot work or drive, and the added stress over rent, utility bills and medical bills is not good for her healing brain.

Paulette is so strong but this is incredibly hard and recovery will take quite some time. The determination of degree of recovery weighs in the balance. So, we are hoping that folks reading this could first and foremost, remember her in your prayers. And, second, if you might have some funds to spare - we want to make sure that she and her daughter continue to have a place to continue to come home to without this additional fear or stress of losing security and housing. Funds will assist with rent, heat, household bills and any uncovered medical needs. Paulette has always been quick with a smile and a laugh, and happy to find fun - we are looking forward to a time when we can see this side of her again. We are not at all sure how long recovery will be and so we are just trying to pull together the people who know and love her to help take some of the pressure off as she finds her smile again.

We understand that times are tough so we only ask that you give what you feel you can and if a prayer is what you can afford - we thank you for that. If there is more, we thank you for that as well and we know Paulette would never want to make a fuss...so we will do it for her!

With grateful hearts,
Paulette's family
