Support Paul's Transition from Prison to Society
Exciting news! Recently our dear friend Paul Clark was finally granted executive clemency. On September 16, 2021, Paul will be returning home after spending more than four decades within New York state prisons. Paul entered prison at 18 years old and is nearly 60 years old now.
Paul was convicted during one of New York's harshest sentencing eras, the 1980s. However, Paul steadfastly exhibited a deep sense of remorse, which remained with him throughout his incarceration for the demise of another life by him. Unfortunately, Paul also had the unconscionable experience of being set up by a well-known corrupt mob cop for an additional death he did not commit. The latter gave Paul a de facto death sentence. Thus, as time slipped away during his incarceration, Paul endured the tragic loss of several intimate family members and friends, which took a huge toll on his supporting cast.
While excited to come home, Paul is keenly aware of the innumerable obstacles and challenges awaiting him as he enters “our new normal.” Paul is truly an amazing person. Growing up in prison, Paul embraced a positive outlook on life. But he is mostly known for his genuineness, charitableness, devotion, and unforgettable infectious smile, Upon coming home Paul will need housing, food, clothing, work, and other necessities in the months following his release. Sadly enough, mostly all elderly incarcerated lifers being released will face this obstacle. Paul has worked for decades in menial occupation jobs for prison wages that ensure zero retirement savings upon release. That reality put’s Paul at a significant and unusual disadvantage. The least we can do is make Paul’s transition as stress-free as possible. Ensuring him a meager financial cushion for his new life is more than a small token for him. Any contribution you are able to make will go directly to Paul’s successful transition. No amount is too small.
Paul is profoundly humbled and grateful for your contribution and wants to thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support.
