I never imagined I would have to ask strangers for help to protect my children, but today I have no other choice. I am a mother of three who is fighting to keep my children safe from an abusive situation involving my ex-partner. Recently, things escalated when my daughter was physically hurt, and it became clear that I must urgently continue legal action to protect my family.
Years ago, I made the incredibly difficult decision to flee a domestic violence situation in order to protect myself and my children. Leaving was not easy, but I did what any parent would do when their children’s safety was at risk.
Unfortunately, despite everything we went through and the steps I took to protect them, the court system has repeatedly allowed my ex-partner back into my children’s lives. Each time this happens, it brings fear, stress, and instability back into our family.
Recently, there was another serious incident in which my daughter was physically hurt. As a mother, there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing your child harmed and feeling powerless to stop it without the legal support needed to fight for them.
Over the years, I have already paid more than $25,000 in legal fees trying to navigate the court system and advocate for my children’s safety. I have done everything I can to carry this financial burden on my own because protecting my kids is my responsibility.
Right now, my attorney has requested $2,500 immediately to continue representing us and move forward with urgent legal action. Without this payment, I risk losing the legal support that has been helping me stand up for my children during this critical time.
Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me, but the safety and well-being of my children must come first. Any funds raised will go directly toward legal fees so I can continue fighting for their protection and a safer future for our family.
