Support Pat's Calling as a Weather Worker
Donation protected
As some of you know, I have devoted the last decade of my life to studying plant biology, herbalism, and healing traditions. I am passionate about strengthening my relationships with the Earth and her people so that I can better take care of my community during this time of great change. As part of this work, I recently started apprenticing to Firekeeping through the organization Sacred Fire. While attending a Firekeeper training this March, I was recognized by Elder Don David Wiley as having a calling to be a granicero or “weather worker” within the Nahua tradition.
When David Wiley shared this calling with me, I felt the rush of homecoming. I’ve always felt a kinship with the forces of weather and I’ve longed for a path to support me in making deeper relationships with them. Coupled with this feeling of fruition, I also felt stunned. “I’m going to need a lot of help…” I thought as I realized just how much my life was going to change.
In order to step into this calling, I am to be initiated during the upcoming spring weather work ceremonies in the Central Highlands of Mexico. This initiation will require extensive expenses in order to perform the initiation ceremony and begin my path as a weather worker. Your contributions will go toward the cost of the initiation ceremony, required ceremonial offerings and items, and 11 days worth of travel expenses.
I’m stepping into this calling to serve my community and lead others towards a reciprocal relationship with the weather. I’d be so grateful for your support as I step into this calling!
Many blessings,
