Hi everyone, my name is Jessica Argento, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother-in-law, Patrick Dowdle, and my sister, Nicole Dowdle.

Two years ago, Patrick faced a difficult medical journey when his left retina tore and detached, requiring five surgeries to save his vision. Through strength, Patrick pushed through a chapter that tested him in every way.

Unfortunately, in September 2025, Patrick experienced another scary setback—this time with his right eye. Nicole rushed him to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, where he underwent emergency surgery for another retinal tear and detachment. Most recently, in January 2026, Patrick had the silicone oil removed from his eye along with a cataract removal during the same procedure. He is now on the road to recovery.

Patrick is the sole provider for his family, while Nicole stays home caring for their two young sons, ages 2 and 4. With an unknown recovery timeline, medical expenses, and time away from work, the financial strain during this time should be the last thing on his mind.

Patrick is one of the most selfless, hardworking, and caring people I know. He would never ask for help on his own. This is something he never wanted to do—but I’m doing it anyway, because he and his family deserve support during this difficult season.

Through all of this, Patrick has shown more strength than I can put into words. My sister has been right there beside him, caring for him while also being there for their children and trying to maintain a sense of normalcy in a time that feels anything but normal.
