Support Patrick and Sabrina in Caring for Basim
Donation protected
On Monday, October 21st, we lost a piece of our hearts when Zean Zaia Younan, loving mother, sister, wife—our entire world, suddenly passed away. Anyone who knows Zean knows her beautiful heart and her smile. Her entire presence left the most unimaginable hole in our hearts.
She leaves behind two children, Patrick and Sabrina, and her husband, Basim. Basim was diagnosed in 2020 with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare neurodegenerative disorder that damages part of the brain that controls his musculoskeletal system. Because of this, he has been wheelchair-bound and has no movement of any part of his body. He is non-verbal and unable to swallow; his condition has no cure. Basim requires 24-hour nursing care. Zean worked tirelessly to ensure that he always had a nurse to help care for his needs in their home. Now that she has passed, his future is uncertain. His children cannot afford the around-the-clock nursing care that is required to care for him, including bathing, feeding, changing, and virtually every aspect of his life.
So many people have reached out and offered to help. At this time, GoFundMe is a way to help support this grieving family, along with prayers. Right now, the focus is on the immediate care of Basim. The funds will go to Zean’s children, Patrick and Sabrina, to help them pay for the enormous medical costs associated with taking care of their father.
Please help this beautiful family.
