Hello, my name is Patrice. I am a married mother of 3. My family is originally from Northern California. We relocated to Utah in 2022 because of the fires, COVID, housing prices, and crime.

We have not had the best time here in Utah and we have decided to move to Michigan. While here in Utah, we have experienced racism frequently. My kids and I have had racial slurs yelled at us from passing cars while we waited at a bus stop. I can't go to Walmart self-checkout without being watched closely by the associates. We have a trans daughter and she has been harassed by other children as well as adults. We have been told we don't belong in Utah because we are Californians. People have literally told us they hate us because we are from California.

I have a lot of health struggles and I have been able to get a few fixed while being here in Utah and we see this as the reason we are here. Because I have had health struggles, I have not been able to hold a job for long. I had a partial thyroidectomy on February 14th, so I am still healing from that surgery.

My children's biological father lives in Michigan and they want to be closer to him.

Any money raised by this fundraiser will go directly to our move which is happening at the end of March. The funds will go towards the U-Haul trailer to get our things to Michigan. The funds will also go towards our hotel stays on our way to Michigan.

Help is not expected. Any help is so greatly appreciated.
