Many of you know my uncle, Pat Krasowski. He has been the owner/operator of Pats Full Service Barber Shop in Aberdeen for 17 years, where he has created countless friendships and loyal customers over the years. His children attend Montesano schools where the entire family is heavily involved in sports and community activities.

Earlier this year, what started as a pain in his jaw, quickly turned out to be the family's worst nightmare, a cancer diagnosis. He was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, with percentages of successful treatment and survival fairly low.

As you can imagine this news came as a complete shock for his health and future, quickly followed by the fear of continuing to provide for his family while undergoing treatment. Being self-employed and the main financial provider for his family, he has no medical leave options to choose from, and his family has had to go without his income while he closed down the shop to go to dozens of doctor's appointments.

He had surgery to remove as much of the tumor from his face/jaw as they could on September 30th. The shop remained closed while he recovered from surgery. He recently was able to open back up again for a short time but now the radiation treatment begins. Starting next week, he and his wife Amy will need to stay in Seattle 4 days a week for the next 4-5 weeks while he undergoes a form of radiation treatment that can only be performed in Seattle. The family's income will once again be put on hold while they face this next scary chapter of his treatment, as his wife Amy will also be out of work to accompany and care for him.

Proceeds will mostly importantly go towards monthly expenses for the family while Pat and Amy are both out of work, also lodging expenses while undergoing the radiation treatment, and help with mounting medical bills.
