Support Mission for Haitian Refugees in the DR
Donation protected
In lieu of gifts, I thank you for considering a donation to this meaningful organization that I am passionate about. In summer of 2023, I had the privilege of going on a short-term mission trip with 11 other members from my church (New Covenant Fellowship Church in MD) to the Dominican Republic. I learned that the growing Haitian refugee population that fled to the DR looking to escape violence and chaos are faced with hostility and anti-black racism as well as extreme poverty.
The Hatian Refugees do not have access to proper healthcare or basic needs like food and water, and they live in a constant threat of detainment and deportation to the chaos and violence that they fled. When they do get detained they are packed into a small overheated space with no access to restrooms or water for days, in which many of the weaker children and women end up dying. My heart went out to this population after seeing such horrific circumstances that the Hatian refugees are in.
Yet, during my short visit to the DR, it was clear that God was at work in the lives of the refugees through missionary Lee’s ministry. As the Haitian refugee Christian population face both racial and religious discrimination, it gave me hope to see how missionary Lee’s work plays a pivotal role in providing spiritual, physical and monetary support to the refugee families.
Missionary/Pastor Lee (이순증 선교사님) is a missionary supported by NCFC who works closely with three local churches ministered by Haitian refugee pastors. He helped us organize childrens’ VBS and construction for these churches and their families during our missions trip. Through various organizations such as Hope & Wonders and Grace clinic, their ministry provides free healthcare by local doctors, small interest-free loans, scholarships, and school lunch to students through the local pastors and refugee church members.
Your donation however big or small will be used to support and provide realistic support to the impoverished and oppressed refugees through a gospel-centered, trustworthy organization (NCFC supported missionary).
Thank you for reading and joining me in supporting this ministry that I am passionately praying for!
Love,
