Support Parridot and Marleen After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
Dear friends and family, I am making this in support of my nieces Parridot and Marleen. All donated funds will go towards the girls' schooling, groceries, rent for the new home, daycare and necessities for the children, who are 4 and 6 years old.
On Friday, my sister Emilee got the call that their father, Aaronanthony, a Sergeant in the military, along with their new stepmom, Maggie Carver, were tragically killed in a car accident. We aren't sure of the details surrounding the incident, as it happened on a military base, and we don't have the release of information yet. They were a blended military family with their father, Aaronanthony, about to be deployed to Korea for 9 months.
Prior to the accident, Emilee who is a caregiver, had just completed schooling for her CNA through her employer, and had moved the girls into a new home for the start of their education. The family had been putting effort into ways to best support the girls and coexist as a blended family with equal custody while Dad was away for the nine months. Three days before the accident, Parridot's 6th birthday was celebrated, and two days after, both moms were able to walk Parridot into her first day of school hand in hand, not knowing that would be the last time they would all be together. That evening, Marleen went home with Maggie to JBLM joint base for her first therapy appointment, while Dad packed for Korea. No one could have prepared for the kind of loss reported the next day.
Emilee and I (Auntie Unicorn) had to tell them the horrible news that evening. It was so heartbreaking explaining it to the children. Words can't describe the crying, sadness, and heartbreak that ensued in the following days, especially when the girls continually asked to speak to Daddy or Maggie on the phone. Unfortunately, that's only the beginning of change and difficulty for the family.
Emilee having just been certified for work through her schooling has no paid leave, or insurance, and has financial obligations for her education. Due to circumstances she has taken time off to support the girls and make the necessary arrangements for their dad's resting place. She is also facing many other financial challenges including the immediate loss of child support, since the loss of the kids' father, and child care since the custody was about 50/50, allowing both parents to work. Medical, therapy and other healthcare needs they have, daycare when Emilee returns to work, and fuel for the many 2 hour trips necessary to the Base where Aaron was stationed.
Going forward, we would appreciate continued prayers and thoughts for the family, as Emilee has a huge responsibility on her shoulders and is going to see financial and emotional hardships for a while. Your support of any amount is greatly appreciated and will help ease the immediate financial burdens, off Emilee’s allowing her to be at home with the girls as family, while they heal and navigate the future. I thank you all for the love and support shown to Emilee and her kids. I know this won't replace such a tremendous loss, but it can immensely ease the burden from Emilee's shoulders as she works hard to provide the necessities for the girls.
