My name is Parker King and I am a 17 year old San Marin Student on my journey to Eagle Scout. I am an active member in Troop 73 in Novato and I have been involved in Scouting for 11 years. I am currently fundraising for my Eagle Project taking place in the Dickson Unit of San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge. I will be building three shaded benches along the walking areas so people can have a place to sit and take in the views.
I am doing this project because I have been kayaking and fishing out on this land for a long time. I have helped out with other service projects but I wanted to give back and do one of my own.
The benches we will be building were designed during my freshman year in my STEM engineering class at San Marin. I designed a bench and it won the design competition through votes from judges. I am excited to build more out on the refuge!
My project will not pay for itself though and I have a goal of $1,000 to be raised for building supplies, tools, and other equipment. Any excess donations will be donated to the non-profit The Friends of the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge (https://spbfriends.org)
I will provide updates on the project here on this page and I will follow up with photos of the completed project to all donors.
Thank you in advance for your support!
