Help the Writers Club provide a creative platform to over 1,000 artists!
The Writers Club (New York) originated as a bi-weekly, in-person gathering among friends at MoMa PS1 in 2020. Since then, we've evolved into a thriving Brooklyn collective with a global reach, providing inclusive meetings, classes, and workshops for writers and artists.
For the last four years, the Writers Club has relied on community donations, ticketed events, our personal salaries, and a lot of luck. But to be honest, we can’t keep going this way, and we need your support.
Starting this year, we want to reduce our workshop prices and make our programs more obtainable. We want to generously compensate our workshop hosts and our other incredible talent, and have a budget to host more in person events, and cover our growing costs.
The writers club team has always worked for free and we want to change that.
Our dream is to build an equitable and accessible creative community. Not just replicate those that have left us out.
Your contribution will go towards covering:
- Programming costs like venue, vendors, and food (typically $1,000/program).
- A $750 stipend that we pay every workshop host, regardless of ticket sales — that's more than many of our best-funded competitors!
- Administrative and operational costs for our hardworking and tiny team.
- A writers club website, and more!
Help us level up our community and reach our goal!
