David is organizing this fundraiser for the young employees at the business after a difficult moment led to an overwhelming show of support from the community. A customer was unkind to a teenage employee, and David spoke up publicly, posting on Facebook and asking people to stop yelling at the employees. That message struck a chord and quickly went viral. Since then, many people have reached out asking how they can help and how they can contribute directly to the young workers who were at the heart of that moment.
These employees are young people who are either just starting out in life or getting ready to head to college next year. David created this fundraiser simply because so many people asked for a way to support them. 100% of the funds will go directly to the employees to help them as they take those next steps into adulthood and education. As David put it, "Folks, we've received lots of attention lately, and many of you have asked how you can donate to these kids. 100% of this will go directly to them. We're not asking for donations. We are doing this for those who've asked." If you feel moved to help, your support will be a direct encouragement to these young workers as they move forward.
