Hi, my name is Leah from Northside Smash Repairs. We have a great team of amazing people, but one of our favourites has been through a tough time health-wise. What brought shock to us all, not to mention what his family felt, Simon was diagnosed with a brain tumour in late 2021. It was severe enough to require emergency surgery immediately. The surgery took place just before Christmas. Simon is the most positive, fun-loving, caring person with an exuberant love of life. So it was no surprise he got through the surgery with a positive outcome and outlook. Soon after seeing Simon, during his long and arduous recovery, the jokes and frivolity we know as typical of Simon began. After a long 8-month period of chemotherapy and radiation, the excitement of his last treatment finally arose.

In a matter of 10 days, the tumour had grown back. This news devastated Simon, his family and the Northside Smash community. But true to the Simon spirit, he took it on board and went straight back for surgery. It's shocked none of us Simon was chosen for a case study; with his contagious and happy persona, he draws people to him and is a perfect candidate for the Doctors to test, trial and work closely with. A slightly different approach to surgery and recovery has been adopted this time.

We, united as one, are all rallying behind him and can't wait to have him back on site with us.

Which brings me to the fundraising request!!!

The cost to Simon, Adele and Novak, emotionally, mentally and physically, as a family has been enormous, but the price financially is always challenging.
