Serra’s pizzeria, a staple in the Maryland Heights community for over 50 years, has been forced to temporarily close due to a devastating fire which occurred on Wednesday, December 3rd. We are still processing this loss and appreciate all the support from the community, our loyal patrons, and first responders. As we move forward and work through repairs and an eventual reopening, we would be grateful for any donations from the community that will assist our employees and the restaurant as we navigate this difficult time. We will keep the community updated as we work to reopen the restaurant, and hope to be serving our customers again soon!
Our story began when my grandfather arrived in America from a small town in Sicily. With limited resources but unwavering determination, he built this pizzeria from the ground up. It became his livelihood, his pride, and a cornerstone of our community — a place where memories were made and traditions were shared.
This tragedy comes at an especially painful time, only a year after my grandfather’s passing and on the ten-year anniversary of his daughter’s passing. Losing the pizzeria feels like losing them both again, as it symbolized their hard work, perseverance, and legacy.
Our focus now is rebuilding so we can continue the legacy that has meant so much to our family and community. Restoring the pizzeria is essential to preserving what my grandfather created. Thank you for your continuous support.
